Henderson Health Care Services, Inc. built in 1974, is a 13 bed acute and skilled-care critical access hospital.  The hospital is Medicare and Medicaid certified.  Some of the services include:  24 hour emergency room coverage, coronary care unit, outpatient surgery, surgical unit, obstetrical unit, geriatric trauma, pediatric care, cardiac and intensive care.  Outpatient services include lab, Radiology, physical, speech, and occupational therapy; ultrasounds; CAT scans; mammography; bone densitometry; and chemotherapy.

Henderson Family Care is a physicians’ clinic attached to the hospital.  Constructed in 2003, the clinic has 10 exam rooms and houses the business offices for the entire medical complex.  Two full-time physicians and one physician assistant are on staff.
The specialty clinic is staffed by physicians from surrounding communities.  These specialties include cardiology, urology, OB/GYN, orthopedics, general surgery, and oncology.

York General Health Care Services – 402.362.6671
York General Health Care Services is a community, not-for-profit organization that provides a continuum of health care services designed to meet the needs of York area residents. 

York General Hospital is a 25-bed acute care “critical access” facility that provides a wide range of Medical and Surgical Services, Obstetrics, Emergency Services, Pulmonary Services, Oncology, Cardiac Rehab, Radiology (including CT and PET scans, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Imaging, Mammography), Lab and other diagnostic services, “Swing Beds” (SNF care) and Rehabilitation Services.  York General Hospital is served by a Medical Staff of local Family Practice Physicians, a General Surgeon, and a number of Physician Assistants.  In addition, 30 to 40 Specialty Physicians from Lincoln, Omaha, Hastings, Grand Island, and Columbus provide various medical and surgical services in the York General Specialty Clinic and York General Hospital.

The York General Medical Office Building houses the York General Hospital Oncology and Cardiac Rehab programs, the York General Wellness Center, as well as the York Medical Clinic and the offices of General Surgeon, Dr. Dan Growney.

York General Specialty Clinic is served by specialty physicians and surgeons who maintain a regular clinic schedule at York General and provide surgical and other health care services at York General Hospital.

The York General West View Medical Building, houses York General Dialysis Services, York General Home Health Care, York General Child Care and serves as the location for the sleep studies performed by the Pulmonary Services Department of York General Hospital.

York General Dialysis Services operates Monday through Saturday to meet the needs of hemodialysis patients in York and neighboring areas.  During the latter part of 2007 the capacity of this service will be expanded from 24 to 32 patients.

Wellness

The York Community Center offers a swimming pool and Jacuzzi, weight room and cardio equipment, gymnasium, walleyball court, racquetball court, and youth game room.  Hours change with the seasons; however the facility is open seven days per week (except Sundays in the summer) generally from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

York General Wellness Center – 402.362.0434
The York General Wellness Center, a part of York General Health Care Services, is located on the second level of the Medical Office Building and provides the community with the latest in exercise equipment, personal training, classes and other programs focusing on health and fitness. 

The York General Wellness Center is a state-of-the-art facility that has nearly tripled in size to 10,000 square feet.  Aerobic and strengthening options for members include:  9 treadmills, 12 selectorized weight machines, free weight area, arc trainers (similar to elliptical), walking track, tanning bed/massage area, sauna in each locker room and climbing wall.

Membership packages are available.  Discounts are available to couples, 55Plus members/couples, families, corporate members, and York College faculty and students.

A variety of aerobic and strengthening classes are free with membership.  Participants may choose a class for their fitness level.  Classes are offered during the early morning, lunch hour, afternoon and evening.  Individuals wishing to participate only in classes may purchase a punch card.  

Personal training, tanning, and massage therapy is also available and open to the public.

The Center is open 7 days a week and supervised at all times. Hours for the Wellness Center are:  M-Th - 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday - 5 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday - 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Sunday - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

York Physical Therapy/Fitness Worx – 402.362.1929
York Physical Therapy/Fitness Worx offers a variety of services including:
cardiovascular and strength training; nutritional programs; instructional sessions;
one-on-one personal training; group personal training; fitness evaluations; program development; locker rooms; the pro shop; broadcast vision; corporate programs; gift certificates; member referral program; therapy pool; aqua massage; tanning; and aerobics classes.

Equipment includes:  Cardiovascular Machines (6 Cybex treadmills, 2 Cybex arc trainers, 3 Nusteps, 2 Precor elliptical trainers, 2 natural runner elliptical trainers, 1 Sci-Fit elliptical trainer, 2 Cybex recumbent bikes, 2 Cybex upright bikes, and 1 Concept rowing machine) and Resistance Equipment (20 station sectionized weight circuit, free-weight area, Cybex cable machine, fitness balls, exercise mats, and set of medicine balls from 2 pounds up to 10 pounds.

The Fitness Worx hours are:  Monday-Friday - 5:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Saturday - 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and Sunday - 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Rosewood Court offers spacious, private, one bedroom suites with a wide range of available services for those who can still care for themselves but require light supervision. Apartments are equipped with individual climate control, kitchenettes and private bath with shower. Provided services include: 3 meals daily, an urgency call system, trained staff available 24 hrs a day, weekly scheduled transportation, laundry, weekly housekeeping and a large variety of daily activities. Other services offered include: housekeeping, medication supervision, physical and restorative therapy, and more.

York General Meadowlark Assisted Living is located on the Meadow View campus slightly west of the West View Medical Building.  It is a Medicaid-waiver facility that offers large apartments for individuals who need limited assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dining, housekeeping, laundry, medications, etc.  Staff is available around the clock to address these needs, as well as to provide activities, transportation, and other assistance as needed.

Mahoney House is a licensed assisted living home. It provides assistance with day to day living in a home like environment.  The apartments are equipped with a small refrigerator and microwave.  A variety of services are offered according to the tenants needs.  Some services provided are three home cooked meals per day, social activities, weekly housekeeping and laundry service.  Staff is available 24 hours a day for all client needs.

Skilled Nursing Facilities

The York General Hearthstone is a state-of-the-art skilled nursing facility built in 2003 and licensed for 129 residents.  Located a couple of blocks north of York General Hospital, it provides a home-like atmosphere and nursing staff who are available 24 hour a day.  The facility offers many special services, including a secure area for residents who require memory support services.

Henderson Care Center, built in 1961, with an addition in 1969, is certified with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (Medicaid).  Licensed for 42 beds, the center offers respite care, registered dietician, activities department, registered pharmacist, and social services department.

Aseracare Hospice cares for terminally ill patients and families.  Hospice is a covered benefit by Medicare, Medicaid, and most insurance companies.  During hospice care the wishes and needs of the entire family are being met.

Tabitha offers a variety of health care services for older adults in their home.  Tabitha's home-based health care services offer care in the comfort and convenience of home in a variety of instances such as recovering from an injury or illness, needing some extra help around the house or facing a life-limiting illness. Tabitha Home Health Care is Nebraska’s first Medicare certified home care service and provides Medicare certified skilled nursing, home health aide, social work and rehabilitation in the home.  Tabitha Caring Companion and Home Aide Care provide help with laundry, cooking, cleaning, bathing, bathroom assistance and companionship up to 24 hours daily.

Hospice of Tabitha is Nebraska’s longest serving hospice agency, offering care, comfort and support and expertise in pain and symptom management.  Dignity, physical, emotional and spiritual supports are key components of care.  Tabitha is a non-profit, faith-based organization, serving 29 southeast Nebraska counties.

York General Home Health provides care in your home through Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance.  Trained health professionals will evaluate the individual’s needs and develop an individualized home health schedule. Services include:  skilled nursing; physical, occupational and speech therapy; home health aides; mother-baby follow-up care; and wound care.

Staff is available to provide services around the clock.  A Registered Nurse is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week for non-emergency questions or visits.

Home Care Plus is a private-duty home care agency providing nursing and personal care in the comfort of your own home when Medicare or other insurance coverage does not provide. Services include:  nursing visits; medication set-ups; dressing assistance; blood draws; medication reminders; homemaking and companionship; bathing assistance; nail care; voice care emergency response units; and immunizations.

Four Corners Health Department was developed in February 2003 and serves four counties:  York, Seward, Butler, and Polk Counties.  Four Corners mission statement is to “promote health, prevent disease and protect the environment, improving the health of the Four Corners community.”  The department has grown to include health surveillance, public health nursing services, medication assistance, nursing triage, Bioterrorism Preparedness Planning, Pandemic Flu Preparedness, Safe Kids car seat fitting stations and bike safety, the Four Corners Cancer Control Coalition, and many other health promotion, prevention, safety and preparedness activities.

Air and Water Quality

York County is one of the cleanest areas in the nation. 

The Ogallala Aquifer provides groundwater for municipal and industrial uses. 
The color of water is clear and is naturally high in quality.  Water derived from municipal sources meets or exceeds all State and Federal drinking water regulations.
