Emergency Services
Fire Protection - 14 full-time professional firefighters and 33 volunteer firemen. First responders include 7 Paramedics and 17 EMTs providing 24/7 service. The firefighters are HAZ-MAT trained. York’s Fire Insurance Class rating is Class 4. The York fire Department has Mutual Aid agreements with surrounding communities.
Police Protection - York Police Department has 14 full-time officers, six support personnel and provides 24/7 coverage for the community.
Sherriff's Department - York County Sherriff’s Department has 9 full-time officers and 15 support personnel. The Sherriff’s Department provides regular security patrols to local industries.
Emergency Medical Services - York General Hospital is an acute care facility operating a 24/7 emergency room. York General provides a wide range of skilled care medical services. York is served by more than 40 specialists including cardiac, pulmonary, obstetrics, oncology, surgery, and others.
