Responsibilities
Responsibilities include planning, organizing and directing the activities of employees engaged in the establishment, maintenance, control and dissemination of medical records and related patient information. A qualified candidate will ensure compliance with all accreditation and governmental regulatory agency standards, maintain a budget and develop systems to meet organizational goals, be an active member of AHIMA, and demonstrate knowledge of diagnosis and procedure coding (ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM) and CPT nomenclature, management statistics, computer use, budgeting and HIM services.Qualifications
This leader must have college level education in medical terminology, disease processes, diagnosis and procedure coding and CPT nomenclature. Credentialed in the Health Information Management field (RHIT or RHIA) preferred. If not credentialed in RHIT or RHIA, a minimum of five years of experience in medical records is preferred.York General
