York, NE - York General does more than provide health care services in York. It also has a positive economic impact on the overall fiscal health of the community. Through a combination of traditional hospital, skilled nursing, nursing home, and assisted living services, fitness and wellness programs, telehealth technology, and community partnerships, York General’s commitment to health extends far beyond our organization’s walls.
"We are one of the largest employers in York and offer some of the best paying jobs and benefits," said Jim Ulrich, Chief Executive Officer at York General. We also recruit professionals to live, raise families and help to support the economic health of York and surrounding communities by spending money here at home..”
“According to the statistics provided by the Heartland Health Alliance,” stated Ulrich, “our 488 jobs at York General create a direct impact of over $44 million in Nebraska as far as revenue created. State and local taxes generated on that revenue is over $551 thousand from the taxes paid by our employees on their compensation and households. There is also an indirect and induced impact on other businesses . . . . So cumulatively the revenue created is over $84 million dollars.”
“Across our Heartland Health Alliance network, we see how each hospital is driving growth by making the community attractive to business and industry,” said Carol Friesen, Vice President Health System Services for Bryan Health. “And when residents retire, they tend to stay in, or move to, communities with quality health care facilities.” Bryan Health is the sponsoring organization for Heartland Health Alliance.
