Klute’s Growth Positions York County as a Leader in Welding and Steel Fabrication

8 Oct 2024
Klute, Inc. has been a staple of York County, Nebraska, since 1961. The company was founded in 1961 by Don and Janice Klute, who left their berry farm in Oregon to move back home to Nebraska. In the 63 years since, the company has brought on other family members (notably, their son Steve Klute in 1977 and Jordan Klute in 2013) and expanded from a basic welding shop to a leader in steel fabrication specializing in substation and transmission line projects for the electrical utility industry. And it’s not done growing.
Klute recently completed a new facility that will double its capacity for manufacturing substation and transmission line projects for the electrical utility industry. The facility features welding bays, space for full-scale structure assembly, and support office space. It expects to be fully operational by the end of the year. At present, Klute is actively hiring to staff this facility.
“We will need not only welders but also estimators, engineers, machine operators, and structural
Drafters,” says President Jordan Klute, the third-generation leader of this family-owned business. “We’ve spent a lot of time over the past 5-7 years investing in advanced equipment that enables us to do significantly more work in-house.”
