Nebraska small businesses reach international markets!!

The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) has received a State Trade and Export (STEP) grant administered by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to:  1) increase the number of small businesses in Nebraska that are exporting, and 2) increase the value of exports for those small businesses that are currently exporting.

This funding has allowed DED to offer several new marketing opportunities to Nebraska small businesses.

The International Market Access Grant (IMAG) program will reimburse “eligible” expenses to a Nebraska company for expenses related to participating in 1) Export Focused Trade Activities that include, but are not limited to:  domestic and international trade shows; trade missions; trade conferences; educational forums; international sales trips; and other international trade activities involving international travel; 2) participating in US Department of Commerce Business Matchmaking Programs available through the US Foreign Commercial Service in Omaha; 3) International Advertising; 4) 3rd Party Product Testing; and 5) Translation and Printing Services.

Companies must qualify as a small business entity based on U.S. Small Business Administration guidelines to be eligible for IMAG funding opportunities.

Companies can access these funds through an application process for activities to be completed no later than September 29, 2015.  Funds will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis to the extent funds are available.  Maximum reimbursement per company over the life of this grant is limited to $20,000 (3rd Party Product Testing not included).
