The Moguls Came Home to York to Grow a Business and Build a Future

27 Nov 2018

The Moguls built a business, grew their careers and raised a family in York. Their success was made possible, in part, by the many opportunities provided by our community. This is why Ron Jr. (known by friends as Bonz) and Madonna Mogul have recently been featured in York County Development Corporation’s (YCDC) talent initiative video, titled Why York County. This successful couple has called York home since moving home in 1986. When asked why they choose to return to York County, Madonna commented, “Coming home to York gave us the opportunity to raise our family in a safe place, grow our business, and be able to try new things while searching for our dream jobs.”

That same year Ron joined the family business, Mogul’s Transmission and Towing. Opened two years earlier, the auto repair business was still in its infancy. In three decades, Mogul’s grew from a small auto shop to a large 9-bay shop and full towing company. This high-tech, full-service auto shop enjoys a prime downtown location in York and a loyal following of customers. Ron commented, “Mogul’s is a family business. So much so, we put our last name on it.  Our customers are fiercely loyal and have attended our family get togethers from weddings, summer celebrations and even Christmas. We are proud to have a business that is built on strong values and work ethic.”

Moving to York allowed Madonna to invest her talents in a variety of local organizations including York College and York General. The work ethic and leadership she displayed in these roles prepared her for the position of Executive Director at the York Chamber of Commerce, a title she has held since 2015. In this role, she is responsible for the growth of the Chamber, overseeing a staff of 3, implementation of member-directed campaigns, and the overall promotion of York, Nebraska. When asked about her role as the Chamber’s Executive Director, Madonna commented, “I am proud to promote our community as well as the businesses within it.  Witnessing successful business ventures after assisting with promotion or even seeing the smiling faces from our broad range of residents is what makes my job so rewarding.”

York also provided the Moguls with a high quality of life

In their personal time, the Moguls enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren. They are also members of York Country Club and enjoy golfing as well as attending live performances at York’s community theater. “We are blessed to have family in town where we are able to get together at local parks for picnics and play. We are often told that we seem to be on the go at various community functions and we are!  Supporting the community and its organizations is our way of giving back for all the support provided to our family as we were raising our children.”

We invite you to learn more about the Moguls by watching York County Development Corporation’s talent initiative video available on YouTube and the YCDC website.
