Responsibilities
Seeks employee responsible for the routine service and maintenance of mechanical equipment in the Village-owned buildings. Performs building maintenance, and janitorial work orders. Performs miscellaneous repair and maintenance of Village streets, rights-of-way (including trees, street lights, and traffic control signs), storm drainage system, water, and sewer system, vehicles, and equipment using a wide variety of equipment and tools as needed. Participates in snow removal operations. Participates in other assigned activities. Responds to and interacts with residents, employees, and/or others within and outside the organization in a courteous, professional, and effective manner
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift an object of forty (40) pounds and move it twenty (20) feet.
- Employee must be physically able to drive trucks, heavy equipment, and operate the technical equipment on these machines.
- Employee must be able to have the ability to learn technical knowledge regarding special equipment and machinery operated by the Village.
- Must have the physical health and ability to work in all kinds of weather conditions.
- Must have the physical ability to function effectively in varied terrain, i.e., hilly, unpaved, in trenches, etc.
- Must have the ability and aptitude for working alone without supervision and for completing tasks and duties as assigned.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
- All employees are expected to practice safe work habits at all times.
Successful applicant required, to have valid driver’s license, high school diploma or equivalent, pass drug test.
