Responsibilities

SUMMARY:

The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis acts as a collaborative business partner for Central Valley Ag’s business units. This position provides accurate, timely analysis of Capital Expenditure budgets, Annual Business Forecasts, financial trends, Benchmarking, and KPI's for division leadership teams. This position will also assess accounting risk for each business unit, providing appropriate feedback while helping to drive effective accounting policies and efficient practices

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following:

Assist in the preparation of and monitor the performance of all Capital Expenditure budgets for CVA’s Departments
Organize and coordinate the evaluation and execution planning (due diligence and integration) for mergers and acquisitions.
Create ProForma reports on all Non-Rolling Stock Assets over $250,000
Present to Senior Management on an Annual Basis the results of past Capex projects as compared to the ProForma
Direct the preparation of and monitor the performance of Annual Business Forecasts (budgets) for CVA’s Departments
Work with CVA departments to share monthly financial results and consolidated financial and production variance analysis; communicate opportunities and engage in corrective action plans
Work with CVA HR and Operations to help establish Wage Bands and make corrective changes as Market metrics change
Champion exercises in developing trending, forecasting, and what-if analysis models and tools including leading business intelligence integration in business planning.
Work with operations management through target setting and performance such as Headcount needs
Help to Establish CVA metrics on Fixed Asset Efficiencies, such as Application Acres per machine, Cost to deliver from different locations on a per mile basis
Capable of managing (and articulating from) large data sets

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A minimum of a BS; a CPA and/or MBA would be a plus
At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in agriculture/cooperative accounting
Experience working with information technology staff to manage company IT System


REQUIRED SKILLS
Strong relationship builder and communicator with experience leading diverse work teams, developing an organization wide strategy for location excellence, engaging company partners, and partnering with a CFO
Passionate about Central Valley Ag Cooperative’s mission and able to promote and communicate the philosophy, mission, and values of CVA to external and internal stakeholders
Broad understanding of Agriculture, and in particular Agronomy, Grain, Energy, and Feed businesses
Strong written, content development and oral communication skills
Goal oriented and focused
Drive, energy and enthusiasm and strongly proactive

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to develop content for customer/patron and prospect correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
