Responsibilities

The Human Resources Manager will manage the human resources department, overseeing administration of hiring, retention, termination, personnel records, legal compliance, compensation, benefits, long term staffing strategies training and development. 


RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Manage Human Resources activities to provide resources and support to management and associates in the manufacturing plant, ensuring positive associate relations at all times. 
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to assist with facilitating a steady and efficient workforce in the manufacturing plant. 
  • Manage the Workers Compensation process. This would include all communication with TPA (Third Party Administrator) as well as managing the filing process. 
  • Promotes safety in the workplace, assists with coordination of safety awareness and improvement programs with EHS Representative. 
  • Support the Plant on all issues regarding legal requirements and regulations affecting Human Resources. Assists Corporate Counsel as needed and assists with communication to outside agencies. 
  • Administer associate performance evaluation systems, incentives, and other performance related recognition programs, as appropriate. 
  • Ensure the plant is properly administering processes associated with payroll and benefits. Oversee the preparation of bi-weekly time reporting to Corporate Payroll and ensure timelines and accuracy of reporting. 
  • Administers and is knowledgeable of all comprehensive benefits programs; is responsive to associate benefits queries. 
  • Administers hourly compensation program in accordance with company guidelines. 
  • Administers company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner, in accordance with Corporate established guidelines. 
  • Support the Operations with any necessary training or programming initiatives. (Conflict resolution, 5S, etc. ). 
  • Manage and actively participate in all termination practices. 
  • Maintain H.R. related expenses within budgetary guidelines; provide ongoing information regarding turnover, worker’s compensation activities, paid training hours, and overtime expenses to the Plant Manager and as requested by Corporate. 
  • Manage any and all investigation processes as they relate to harassment, corporate complaints, workplace violence, etc. 
  • Assist with the formulation of annual department budgets, including forecasts for capital equipment, manpower requirements, etc., and provides cost/payback justification for recommended expenditures (if applicable). 
  • Guide and develop direct reports with daily functions and assigned projects.
  • Provide leadership role in addressing matters regarding associate safety and welfare, and provide associate counseling, direction and advice in corrective action and development situations, as required. Ensures that the “Basic Principles” or appropriate guidelines are followed and utilized by Managers during coaching and counseling sessions. 
  • Encourages positive interaction between management and associates; plan and implement associate activities. 
  • Ensures that facility is utilizing management practices which result in our associate not seeing a need for a third party. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Management, or related discipline required. 
  • Experience 
  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills required.  
  • Proficiency with HRIS/HCM preferably Dayforce or comparable system and with Excel with ability to analyze data and present clear and concise reports required.  Ability to learn systems and to train others on HR related systems.
  • Experience with administration of training programs. 
  • Experienced with associate relations, retention and conflict resolution.
  • Should have experience in administering various HR policies.
