Responsibilities

City of Henderson seeks a full-time person to perform duties in the operation and maintenance of streets, sewer and water systems, parks, city equipment, public buildings, recreation areas and other tasks as assigned.  

Seeks employee responsible for the routine service and maintenance of mechanical equipment in the City-owned buildings. Performs building maintenance, and janitorial work orders. Performs miscellaneous repair and maintenance of City streets, rights-of-way (including trees, street lights, and traffic control signs), storm drainage system, water, and sewer system, vehicles, and equipment using a wide variety of equipment and tools as needed. Participates in snow removal operations. Participates in other assigned activities. Responds to and interacts with residents, employees, and/or others within and outside the organization in a courteous, professional, and effective manner

Qualifications

  • Must be able to lift an object of forty (40) pounds and move it twenty (20) feet.
  • Employee must be physically able to drive trucks, heavy equipment, and operate the technical equipment on these machines.
  • Employee must be able to have the ability to learn technical knowledge regarding special equipment and machinery operated by the Village.
  • Must have the physical health and ability to work in all kinds of weather conditions. 
  • Must have the physical ability to function effectively in varied terrain, i.e., hilly, unpaved, in trenches, etc.
  • Must have the ability and aptitude for working alone without supervision and for completing tasks and duties as assigned. 
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • All employees are expected to practice safe work habits at all times. 

 

Successful applicant required, to have valid driver’s license, high school diploma or equivalent, pass drug test
