PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTION The IT Support Specialist will provide technical support to company employees, prioritizing requests based on how critical they are to our business processes. The position will troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and configure new hardware and software as needed. The IT Support Specialist will have primary responsibility for handling network infrastructure and will work with our Managed Services Provider (MSP) to keep the server, network, domain controller, and backups working properly. The position may be called upon to help diagnose and fix some of the large equipment in the plant with the maintenance department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide technical support to users Troubleshoot network and hardware issues Research problems and identify solutions Install and configure new software and hardware components Oversee application updates Monitor the firewall for potential threats Build knowledge in company's software's to help troubleshoot issues Become familiar with machines and equipment in plant to help maintenance diagnose and fix problems. Wire CAT5e/6 into computers, machines, and new office areas Manage the wireless network, dhcp and static IPs Work with barcode scanning equipment and associated software Work with our Managed Services Provider (MSP) on technical issues, backups, and networking.
Education: Bachelors or Associates degree or equivalent work experience Experience: Familiarity with relevant computer software and hardware programs. Experience working with various operating systems. Excellent analytical problem-solving skills. Knowledge of networking and server operations. Other Qualifications and Requirements
