PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTION
Responsible staging parts together for welders according to the project blueprints
Responsible for moving, sorting, and staging steel parts to and from machines and welders.
Responsible for sorting/stacking/organizing steel plate from machines, and chamfering/cleaning holes in plate with a drill press and hand tools.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to move steel plate manually and with the assistance of overhead cranes and forklifts.
Operate an electric drill press to chamfer/countersink/clean holes in steel plate.
Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently in a production environment including:
Handle a large variety of material lengths, shapes and sizes both before and after welding.
Operate a forklift in close proximity with other forklifts and pedestrians.
Stack materials in a stable, safe, and efficient way.
Coordinate with Production Management on material priorities and organization.
Communicate with welders and machine operators on material needs.
Attention to detail to ensure parts are organized and staged as needed.
Store and organize parts for inventory.
Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
The ability to accurately check one's work for quality assurance.
Ability to operate forklifts and become forklift certified.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Standing and/or walking 95%
Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls
