Responsibilities
The Dirt Crew Lead supervises and participates in county dirt and gravel road construction, maintenance, and repair activities.
This position leads a crew responsible for grading, shaping, drainage improvements, and surface maintenance while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with county policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in road maintenance, construction, or earthwork.
Prior experience leading or supervising a work crew preferred.
Valid driver’s license; CDL required within a specified timeframe.
Knowledge of dirt road construction and maintenance techniques.
Ability to safely operate heavy equipment.
