Responsibilities
PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTION Perform routine to moderately complex drafting, detailing and other related duties to produce accurate drawings and plans necessary for the fabrication of steel assemblies and related accessories in accordance with customer contract documents, industry standards and /or established practices and procedures. When needed, assist in checking other detailers work to see that it conforms to the requirements of Klute Inc, AISC and OSHA standards. Work with detailers on creating professional, accurate and practical print layouts to be used by the customer as well as fabrication. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for developing drawings per project scope and specifications, as well as AISC requirements and Klute Inc.'s detailing standards. Review of shop drawings detailed by other drafters either in house or an outside company. Exporting of 3D model components to DXF to be programmed. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Minimal lifting required. Requires repetitive movement Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls Ability to view computer monitor Frequent alpha/numeric keyboarding Frequently required to sit Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled
Qualifications
Position requires an organized/detail oriented person with critical thinking skills. Work both in independently and in a team-oriented environment. Work directly with Detailing Manager, Administrative Employees, Shop Foreman and Production Staff. Fluent in Microsoft Office and Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and Bluebeam. 3D modeling software experience preferred. Advance Steel experience a plus. Candidates with prior experience in drafting, steel fabrication or interpretation of erection detail drawings will be strongly considered. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES Education: High School Graduate. College training is preferred. Experience: 1+ years of related experience in 3D modeling 2+ years checking for steel detailing Other Qualifications and Requirements Ability to read structural and architectural blueprints Excellent communication skills, multitasking skills, project management and/or project coordinator experience
