After a career in the newspaper business, spanning years in the weekly world in Northeast Nebraska and then 25 years at the York News-Times, Melanie Wilkinson has launched this website full of local news and opinions pieces known as Just Melanie (in keeping with the theme of her decades-long column).

Since launching in mid-June, 2023, we have added commentary from Steve Moseley, Greg Awtry and others from this area to provide a well-rounded opinion section. There is also the whimsical little weekly piece called “The World According to Rico” and two columns a week from Melanie Wilkinson. There is also the weekly piece called “Questions of the Week” if individuals have questions they want to email in, and we will certainly try to answer them. 
And of course, we will continue to cover county, court, city, features, etc., in an effort to bring news about York County, Nebraska.
