Qualifications

External candidates will receive a sign-on bonus of $3,500. Our Collins Aerospace York, NE site is a manufacturer of highly engineered precision components supporting both commercial and military customers. Manufactured components are used primarily in generators and Ram Air Turbines (RAT) used for aircraft emergency power generation. Our Ram Air Turbines have been used to save aircrafts and over 2,600 lives. NDT Technician shall apply all basic principles, methods, equipment, operating procedures and inspection techniques to products requiring specific methods of non-destructive testing per applicable specifications and/or instruction. Eligible for relocation Primary Responsibilities: Have the skills and knowledge to set up and standardize equipment, conduct tests, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results. Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique/method in which they are certified Conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard. Capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees, Level 1, or Level 1 “Limited” personnel in the technique/method in which they are certified. Be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the methods as utilized by Collins Aerospace. Develop and document NDT work instructions. All NDT work instructions require Responsible Level 3 approval. Must be able to pass written and physical exams for each specific NDT method. Shall pass re-certification exam on a 5 year interval. Have basic knowledge of product manufacturing and inspection technologies. Role may require standing/walking, lift/carry up to 35lbs, bending/twisting, kneeling/squatting/crawling, reaching, grasping/gripping/pinching/fine manipulation Use push carts and pallet jacks to move hardware Knee control to operate Magnaflux machines Contact with oils and chemical vapors from products during the normal manufacturing process. Other duties and tasks as assigned. Qualifications / Experience Needed: Typically requires a HS diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR in the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 4 years of relevant experience is required U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62 Preferred Qualifications: Previous certification Level 2 an any of the following disciplines: PT, MT, UT Associate Degree in Nondestructive Testing Technology Experience using basic measuring instruments and hand tools Experience to perform mathematical calculations (add and subtract decimals) Experience reading blueprints
