The YCDC proudly hosted our milestone 10th annual Regional Career Day at the esteemed Holthus Convention Center on Thursday, March 28, 2024. This event witnessed the participation of eight schools, attracting an impressive turnout of students eager to embark on their professional journeys.
Our keynote speaker, April McDaniel, captivated the audience with her compelling opening address, drawing from her business experience to offer invaluable insights. April eloquently shared her strategies for finding strength in the face of adversity, inspiring students to overcome challenges and pursue their aspirations with determination.
Following the keynote speech, there were a variety of nine breakout sessions where students had the opportunity to customize their experience by attending four of their choice. The diverse array of options, included sessions covering education, entrepreneurship, agriculture, natural resources, communications, information systems, human services, and much more.
Occurring simultaneously, was an attached job fair that represented eleven companies that each school group attended. This provided students with invaluable networking opportunities and facilitated face-to-face interactions, fostering connections that could potentially lead to exciting career prospects in previously unexplored industries.
