YCDC Celebrates National Manufacturing Day with Local Students

In celebration of National Manufacturing Day, the York County Development Corporation (YCDC) is excited to announce its Annual Manufacturing Day Tours, taking place on October 4, 2024, from 8:30 AM to 12:45 PM. This educational event aims to showcase the diverse opportunities available in the manufacturing industry to upperclassmen from local high schools.
This year, the tours will offer students a unique, behind-the-scenes look at three prominent York County manufacturers: Farmer’s Cooperative, Collins Aerospace, and Green Plains. Each of these leading companies will open its doors to provide students with valuable insights into the manufacturing processes, career opportunities, and innovative technologies that drive their success.

"National Manufacturing Day is the perfect occasion to highlight the exciting career paths available within our own community. By visiting these outstanding local manufacturers, students will gain firsthand experience and learn about the essential role manufacturing plays in our region's economy."
The Manufacturing Day Tours are designed to inspire and educate students about the various career opportunities in manufacturing, helping them understand the potential for growth and innovation within the industry. Each tour will include interactive demonstrations, Q&A sessions with industry professionals, and a deeper understanding of how these companies contribute to the local economy.
