U.S. News’ 2025 Best States (Nebraska #5!)

Nebraska has been ranked #5 in U.S. News’ 2025 Best States report! This ranking reflects the hard work and innovation of Nebraskans statewide.
The report focuses on eight key categories, including Crime, Education and Opportunity. Nebraska came in in the top 30 for each category, with praises to our state’s agriculture industry and our “Golden Triangle” – corn, livestock and ethanol – as a main driver of our success.
Beyond ag, the Cornhusker state stood out nationally by earning the #1 spot in Infrastructure thanks to our high-quality roads, short commute times and renewable energy usage that nearly doubles the national average. In addition, the state’s Fiscal Stability also proved to be strong, backed by a AA1-Positive government credit rating.
