York County Development Corporation (YCDC) along with the York Chamber of Commerce recognizes and values the dedication and entrepreneurial spirit within our community. Small businesses help to strengthen York’s economy and keep our communities, the State of Nebraska, and America’s economies growing strong. More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business and strive to create an ideal community to live, work, and play. Small Business Week and Economic Development Week are nationally recognized, and promotes the importance of economic stability and small business growth within the states. The Chamber and YCDC supports and joins in this national effort to help America’s small businesses grow, create jobs, and ensure that our communities remain as vibrant tomorrow as they are today.

The following communities have adopted proclamations for Small Business and Economic Development Week(s):

Village of Benedict

Village of Bradshaw

Village of McCool Junction

Village of Waco

City of York

Within these proclamations, the above communities stated that they recognize April 30-May 6 as Small Business Week and May 8- 12 as Economic Development Week. It was resolved by each community that they officially recognize these weeks as such, and celebrate the importance expanding career opportunity, increasing quality of life, and acknowledging the achievements made by local small businesses.

The York County Development Corporation and York Chamber of Commerce would like to thank the participating communities for adopting proclamations, supporting local small businesses, and your continued partnerships.
