YCDC's Executive Director elected 2025 President of National Rural Economic Developers Association

January 23, 2025

Dear Stakeholders and Friends,

It is with great excitement that I share some incredible news with you! Linked here, you will find an article announcing my role as the 2025 President of the National Rural Economic Developers Association (NREDA). This opportunity is not only a personal honor but a significant milestone for York County and our efforts to promote economic vitality on a national stage.

As your Executive Director, my mission has always been to position York County as a leader in rural economic development. This role at NREDA allows me to do just that—bringing visibility to our community, advocating for rural priorities, and ensuring York County has a voice in shaping policies and programs that impact rural America.

Return on Investment (ROI): What This Means for York County

Representing York County at the national level creates invaluable opportunities:

Advocacy for Rural Issues:
Being at the table where decisions are made ensures that the challenges and opportunities in York County and other rural communities are heard and addressed.

Networking and Partnerships:
This position opens doors to collaborate with national leaders, funders, and organizations that can directly support our local economic development efforts. Connections forged at this level can lead to new resources, partnerships, and growth opportunities for York County.

Increased Visibility for York County:
My leadership in NREDA elevates York County as an example of successful rural development, potentially attracting new businesses, residents, and investments.

Knowledge Sharing:
Insights and best practices gained from this role will be brought back to benefit our county, ensuring that we stay ahead of the curve in innovation and economic strategies.

By investing in representation and leadership at this level, we are ensuring York County is positioned as a thought leader in rural economic development while creating pathways for new opportunities and growth.

I am deeply grateful for your continued support, which allows us to elevate York County on this stage. Together, we are shaping a brighter future for our community. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to discuss how this opportunity can further benefit York County’s development.

Thank you for believing in our mission to make York County the first choice for businesses and families in our region and beyond.

Sincerely,
Lisa Hurley
Executive Director
