Community Survey Highlights York’s Retail Priorities
York County Development Corporation (YCDC), in collaboration with The Retail Coach, recently conducted a Consumer Retail Survey to better understand local shopping preferences. With more than 1,600 responses from residents, high school and college students, the survey provided clear insights into what the community wants to see in York.
Top requests included more sit-down restaurants, clothing stores, and sporting goods retailers. Popular national brands like TJ Maxx, Five Below, Chick-fil-A, and Panda Express were among the most frequently mentioned. The results also showed that many residents shop in Lincoln and Grand Island, highlighting a strong opportunity to grow York’s local retail offerings.
These survey insights will help guide YCDC’s efforts to attract the kinds of businesses that align with community needs.
