Job Description Our Collins Aerospace York, NE site is a manufacturer of highly engineered precision components supporting both commercial and military customers. Manufactured components are used primarily in generators and Ram Air Turbines (RAT) used for aircraft emergency power generation. Our Ram Air Turbines have been used to save aircrafts and over 2,000 lives. The Manufacturing Supervisor plays a key role on our Operations team. In this role, the supervisor is responsible for overall performance. Leading the production team to continuously improve safety, quality, schedule, and cost while ensuring talent development of the team. Sets day-to-day activities and assists in managing and monitoring production operations, maintenance, inventory control, scheduling and personnel. Majority of the work is done in a clean, climate-controlled facility where we put safety and quality first in everything we do.

Responsibilities

Reduce OSHA Incident Rate and attain compliance through weekly safety audits, monthly safety meetings, required safety training, implementation of 5S practices, root cause correction, and enforcement of all regulatory and management policies and procedures. Improve product quality through assurance of operator capability and compliance to specifications. She/he must manage time constraints, availability of technical resources and various operator skill levels. Oversees production operations (shop floor management, workforce management, and flow disruption management), scheduling and personnel. Manages and supervises the work of manufacturing production disciplines in the Operations function. Performs professional or management work regularly across multiple Manufacturing disciplines. Assists in cost reduction and process improvement to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness. Assists in scheduling for one cell so that production schedules are met. Assists in sequencing of work, such as build and delivery, for a cell to optimize productivity. Coordinates activities for materials and logistics problem resolution of a cell to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations. Monitors cell performance and productivity of a cell to maximize productivity. Assists in production innovation, including additive manufacturing, of a cell to enhance the cell's production capabilities.

Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
