Job Description

Packaging Room Technician in the production area of McLean Beef. This includes operating the rollstock machine, double chamber vacuum machine, and labeler / scale. Also includes building cardboard boxes to store the finished product. Must be able to lift ~50 +lb. boxes, stack onto a dolly, move the loaded dolly into the finished freezer (-10 F), and then unload the boxes and place onto shelves. Must have the mindset to make every package customer ready. Attention to detail is critical. The right candidate will be able to do light maintenance on the equipment. This includes but not limited to changing the dyes, blowing out the machine nightly and keeping the unit clean.

Wage per hour starting at $16.00 - Depends on experience and education.

Responsibilities

follow all procedures and guidelines that maintain the food safety in our plant
follow directions on the customers’ order form
attend safety meetings
strive to increase your skills to produce the highest quality product
maintain the highest quality products that are offered for sale
use PPE correctly when required
proper use of equipment and tools
maintain records as required
cleaning of equipment and work areas to maintain health and sanitation standards
correctly label all product as per the USDA requirements

Qualifications

Experience

Preferred but willing to train

Physical Requirements:

Able to lift up to 50+#
Able to exert 1-10# of force constantly (6-8 hours a day)
Able to stand / walk constantly (8 hours a day)

Working Conditions:

This position is continually exposed to a cool environment (45 F). There is frequent noise from the equipment. This is a fast-paced work environment.
