PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTION Ensure the company's sales growth projections are met or exceeded by implementing sales plans; contacting new sales opportunities, maintaining relationships with existing customers and manufacturers' representatives. Keep abreast of new trends in the industry. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for the company by projecting expected sales volume for existing and new customers. Manufacturers' Representatives: Travel with manufacturers' representatives to new and existing customers Work with reps to determine target customers and help implement plans to win these customers Maintain communication through emails, phone calls and conference calls Maintains sales volume and product mix. Recommends selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors. Customer Care Manages the company's relationships with existing customers. Researches, contacts and establishes a rapport with new customers. Coordinates all customer visits, tours and meetings. Completes all vendor forms as required by potential new customers. Conferences and trade shows: Plan conference attendance, travel and set up show Greet new and existing customers at trade show Follow up with conference attendees post show Marketing Assists in marketing initiatives as determined by manager. Travel: Approximately 40% of time. Includes travel to new and existing customers, trade shows and conferences Communications: Funnels feedback to and from new and existing customers. Reports are generated and filed with management for all trips to customers, trade shows and conferences. Works with internal estimating team to coordinate quote activity and customer relationships Professional Growth: Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience Experience: Minimum 5 years work experience. Experience managing and working with manufacturers reps. Experience presenting business and technical information to customers. Previous work in structural steel, and/or electric utility industry a plus. Other Qualifications and Requirements PHYSICAL DEMANDS Standing and/or walking 30% Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
