Class 'A' CDL Truck Driver

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Drive truck to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations. 

Maneuver the vehicle in difficult situations. 

Inspect truck for defects before and after trips, ensure load is secure and safe before strapping. 

Assist workers in loading and unloading material and help out in the Shipping Department if needed. 

Obtains correct paperwork for load picked up. 

Maintain ELD truck log, according to state and federal regulations. 

Maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions. Inspect truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and straps. 

Position blocks and straps around items to secure cargo during transit. 

Remove straps after transit and inspect and store. 

Maintain truck regularly by washing the outside and cleaning inside. 

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
