Foster Care Specialist

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: 

Support Foster Homes Visit foster homes monthly; maintain weekly contact with foster parents. 

Assist with licensing requirements and ongoing foster parent training. 

Develop corrective action plans and provide coaching. 

Conduct evaluations, maintain files, and review documentation. 

Support Children in Care Guide foster parents in addressing behavioral and emotional needs. 

Advocate for children and ensure safety/well-being. 

Supervise parent/child visits and provide transportation when needed. 

Develop and monitor treatment plans and independent living skills. 

Recruitment & Training Conduct pre-assessments and training (PSMAPP model). 

Oversee required background checks for foster parents. 

Support foster parent recruitment and retention efforts. 

Collaboration Participate in team meetings and community networking. 

Communicate with NDHHS and other service providers. 

Provide crisis intervention and on-call support.
